Is the reporter protected?

Yes. Anyone who makes a report believing that the child or person is in need of care and protection does not commit an offence and is protected by the law. 

A report which is made to the Registry or other relevant authorities is secret and confidential, and shall not be disclosed to anyone not authorized by law to receive it.
